Description
Mgr. Daniel Baránek, Ph.D. studied history and Jewish studies at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague. After finishing his studies, he was researcher at the Jewish History Department, Jewish Museum in Prague. Now, he is postoc at the Department of 19th Century History, Institute of History of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
His research focuses on Jewish history, especially on the religious, social and political development of Jewry in the Bohemian (Czech) lands in 1848–1942. He has published articles in the journal Judaica Bohemiae, as well as monographs about Jews in Frýdek-Místek (2015) and Ostrava Region (2017).
