Description

Alicja Jarkowska, Ph.D. – a historian employed at the Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University (Laboratory of Recent Polish History). Co-editor of two volumes of Archiwum Ringelbluma. Konspiracyjne archiwum getta Warszawy (The Ringelblum Archive. The Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto), author of the monograph Wymuszona współpraca czy zdrada? Wokół kolaboracji Żydów w okupowanym Krakowie (Forced Cooperation or Treason? On Jewish Collaboration in Occupied Krakow, Uniwersitas 2018) and many articles concerning, among others, the extermination of Jews, collaboration, common crime during World War II. Winner of the first prize in the 2019 Prof. Tomasz Strzembosz Competition for the best book on the recent history of Poland; finalist of the POLITYKA 2019 Scientific Award. Scholarship holder of the Claims Conference, Fondation pour la Mémoire de la Shoah, National Science Center. She continues her research on the history of Jews in Krakow. Member of the Commission on the History and Culture of Jews at the Polish Academy of Learning; the Society of the Enthusiasts of the History and Monuments of Krakow; Polish Association for Jewish Studies; European Association for Jewish Studies. Associate of the Center for the Study on the History and Culture of Krakow Jews of the Jagiellonian University. Her latest article is Criminal cases involving Jews heard in Krakow District Court in the period 1939–1944. A contribution to further research; 27 May 2021, pp. DOI: 10.1080/17504902.2021.1914959.
