Description
Elizabeth Lambourn works at the interface of history and material culture and specialises in the study of premodern Indian Ocean communities and societies. During 2011-2013 she held a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship for the project \"West Asia in the Indian Ocean 500-1500 CE.\" She is a founding editor of the new medieval studies journal The Medieval Globe and is currently finishing her monograph \"Abraham\'s Luggage: A Social Life of Things in the Indian Ocean World,\" a study of Jewish mobility and identity between the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean world in the twelfth century CE.
