“And Truth Is Absent”: Lies, Concealment, and InformationManipulation—Jewish and Global Perspectives, from Antiquity to the Age of AI

The Department of Israel Heritage and the School of Communication at Ariel University invite researchers, lecturers, and media professionals to submit proposals for conference talks on falsehood, concealment, and information manipulation in their historical and contemporary forms.
The conference will examine how information is created, controlled, distorted, concealed, and disseminated, and how different societies have negotiated the boundaries between truth and falsehood, knowledge and power. We particularly welcome proposals addressing political propaganda and the rewriting of history; censorship and control of knowledge; conspiracy theories; fake news and manipulation on social media; authentic and synthetic (AI-generated) content; digital influence on emotions and perceptions of reality; wartime disinformation; legal and ethical aspects of deception; and historical and Jewish perspectives on rumor, forgery, authority, and concealment.
Please submit an abstract of approximately 300 words, together with the title of the talk, the presenter’s name, academic title (if applicable), institutional affiliation, and contact details. Proposals may be submitted in Hebrew or English. Each talk will last approximately 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion.
Notifications of acceptance will be issued during December 2026.
