The foundation also gives scholarships to facilitate academic exchanges by providing financial support for students who are citizens of the Visegrad countries. They will be willing to look at all funding proposals as long as you are from a member state.
Visegrad Scholarship Program
The International Visegrad Fund offers Master`s and Post-Graduate (Post-Master`s) Scholarships for study/research projects of 1 to 4 semesters. Total budget for the 2008 scholarships is EUR 1,564,000 which amounts to approx. 400 semesters in total. The following scholarship schemes are available:
Intra-Visegrad Scholarships – for scholars coming from one of the V4 countries who plan to study in any V4 country other than that of residence.
Successful applicant within this scheme will receive a scholarship of EUR 2,000/semester and the host university/institute will receive the support of EUR 1,500/semester.
Out-Going Scholarships – for outstanding students or Master`s degree holders from V4 countries to study at acknowledged universities in Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine. Successful applicant within this scheme will receive a scholarship of EUR 2,500/semester and the host university/institute will receive the support of EUR 1,500/semester.
In-Coming Scholarships – for outstanding students or Master`s (or equivalent) degree holders who plan to study at universities in the V4 region and who are citizens of the following countries: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, the Russian Federation, Serbia and Ukraine. Successful applicant within this scheme will receive a scholarship of EUR 2,500/semester and the host university/institute will receive the support of EUR 1,500/semester.
Scholarship Program for Ukrainian Students – for scholars coming to the V4 countries from Ukraine. Successful applicant within this scheme will receive a scholarship of EUR 2,500/semester and the host university/institute will receive the support of EUR 1,500/semester
Visegrad University Studies Grant
The aim of the program is to promote and support the development and launch of outstanding university courses or study programs that deal with specific phenomena explicitly related to the Visegrad Group countries. The grant is intended as a lump-sum, one-installment grant awarded to selected university departments, schools or faculties that can document a prepared syllabus/curriculum for such a course/program and confirm its planned long-term enrollment in a given curriculum. Annual budget: EUR 100,000. Deadline: 15 February.
Any public or private university in the world is eligible for the Grant. The course/program can be taught in any language. The course/program is expected to secure for each semester of its enrollment at least two relevant guest lecturers from two countries of the Visegrad Group (different from that of the applicant).
Project application should include:
1) Professional CV(s) of the coordinator(s)
2) Course syllabus/program curriculum
3) Tentative letters of agreement from the guest lecturers
4) Confirmation about the enrollment of the course within given program (continuation)
5) Copy of ministerial accreditation (where applicable)
6) Copy of founding documents of the applying institution
7) Estimated number of students annually

Eligibility criteria: All applicants have to have successfully finished at least 4 semesters of university studies prior to applying.
All universities accredited by the appropriate government (Education Ministries) and institutes or academies of science are eligible to be host as well as home institutions.
Exclusions / restrictions: Does not fund payment of capital investments; payment of own indirect costs; payment of rent of own premises; salaries; travel costs. Nor does it fund projects that involve less than three countries, except projects in the field of cross-border co-operation.
