Funding objective / Areas of interest: To provide financial support to activities of interest and value to both Poland and Germany.

Fundacja Wspólpracy Polsko-Niemieckiej was established under an agreement between the governments of Poland and Germany to foster and support the strengthening of relations between both nations.

The foundation`s interests and activities are as follows:
Dialogue between Polish and German people; Partnerships and cooperation between both self-governing and other institutions; Knowledge exchange in the fields of culture and language; Scientific research on the culture and history of Poland, Germany and Central Europe; Educational awards and exchanges; the promotion of the arts and literature of Poland, Germany and the EU; Activities that seek to safeguard common cultural heritage.
Type of funding available: Awards; Prizes; Conferences; Seminars; Educational/training programmes; Equipment; Funder-operated programme; Fellowships; Matching support; Professor/faculty development; Publications; Research; Staff development; Student aid; Scholarships.
Beneficiary type:
Eligibility criteria: The projects must be in Poland and / or in Germany; The maximum amount of support lies at PLN 50,000 (or 12,500 €); The Foundation does not accept applications, which the Board has already decided once.
Exclusions / restrictions: Permanent or supplemental funding ongoing expenses and budgets; Cover financing gaps in the budgets of state and local governments; Religious purposes; Party political purposes; Solely commercial purposes; Project whose aims and needs not identified; Construction projects and the purchase of devices and equipment; Costs associated with the preparation of grant applications; Projects whose funding is clearly within the jurisdiction of other funding agencies. These include the National Rehabilitation Fund for the Disabled, the Polish-German Youth Office, The Remembrance, Responsibility and Future Foundation and the Polish-German Reconciliation Foundation.
Example grants: International Scientific Conference: Germany – Poland after the enlargement of the European Union: Review and Prospects; Exhibition “Equality – Równosc”; Poland Tour of Theo Jörgensmann Second Quartets; Presentation of the “Big Dictionary of Polish-German and German-Polish” at the Frankfurt Book Fair; Exhibition of Historical Photographs from the museum Gliwice and the Silesian Museum in Görlitz; Exhibition of the Foundation for German-Polish Co-operation: “The return of a city: Zielna 37 and surroundings – yesterday, today, tomorrow”. The Foundation is a benefactor to The Jewish Historical Institute, Poland.
