EAJS Bursary Programme for the World Congress of Jewish Studies 2025
Deadline for Applications: 17 April 2025 (23:59 GMT)
The European Association for Jewish Studies (EAJS) is happy to announce that it is running a travel bursary programme for its Full Members to join the 19th Congress of the World Union of Jewish Studies (WUJS), to take place 4-8 August 2025.
The EAJS bursary programme will make fourteen £600.00 bursaries available to fully paid-up Full Members of the Association to cover their travel and accommodation costs for attending the World Congress of Jewish Studies to present a paper.
The application window for these bursaries will close at midnight on 17 April 2025.
Applications will be evaluated on the basis of academic merit, with applicants based in countries with a lower than median European income taking precedence in case of applications of comparable academic quality.
Applications for an EAJS WUJS Congress bursary should be submitted using the online application form.
Applicants will be required to enter the following as part of the application form:
- a short letter of application (maximum of 2,000 characters);
- a concise CV (maximum of two pages; 5,000 characters); and
- the abstract submitted to the WCJS (translated into English if not originally submitted in English; maximum of 2,000 characters).
- a scan or pdf of the WUJS notification accepting the proposed paper
The application form and all application documents must be submitted in English.
The award of a bursary will be dependent on the acceptance of the submitted paper proposal by the WUJS.
