The Institute for Jewish Studies at the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a
Doctoral Research Associate
(salary level TV-L E 13, 65%).
This part-time (65% FTE) position will be under the direction of Prof Katrin Kogman-Appel at the Institute for Jewish Studies (FB 09, Department of Philology).
The position is scheduled to begin on 1 October 2022 and is limited to a duration of three
Academic research and teaching associated with the Chair for Jewish Studies in the Department of Philology focusing on Jewish art history and book culture in the Middle Ages. The full-time teaching load is 4 hours per week during semester.
This position is tied to working towards a doctorate.
– a firm knowledge of Hebrew (i.e. the ability to read secondary literature and primary sources)
– a Master Degree in Jewish studies or a related discipline (preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the Middle Ages, art history, print culture and/or manuscript culture)
– a strong interest in medieval Jewish culture, material culture, and manuscript culture
– German language skills would be advantageous, but are not a requirement.
