Full Professor Position in Contemporary History of the Jews at INALCO, Paris
History of the Jews in the contemporary times
Teaching: The incumbent of the position will be responsible for teaching, at all levels of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, on the history of Jews from the 18th century to the present day: endogenous and exogenous factors in the evolution of their relationship with States and majority societies, migratory flows, persecutions, historiographical and memorial debates. A particular interest in the history of the Jews of France, in all its geographical components, including North Africa, demographic, socio-economic and cultural, is expected.
Knowledge of Hebrew and/or a Judeo-language (Judeo-Arabic, Judeo-Spanish, Yiddish) is essential.
The candidate will be involved in the elaboration of pedagogical – possibly digital – tools. ICTE skills are desirable.
According to her/his field of study, she/he will devote a part of his/her schedule in teaching the cross-curricular courses within the department (Literature, Linguistic, Humanities) or within the
Bachelor’s and Master’s programs of INALCO.
He/She may deliver teaching in English.
