The 4th EHU Conference on Jewish Studies in Vilnius “The Jewish Scholarship and Its Teaching: Persons, Schools and Institutions in the Epoch of Tribulations,”  26-27 April, 2023. 

The Center for Jewish Studies of European Humanities University (EHU) and the annual Tsayshrift / Časopis invite participants to the 4th EHU Conference on Jewish Studies “The Jewish Scholarship and Its Teaching: Persons, Schools and Institutions in the Epoch of Tribulations,” 26-27 April, 2023, European Humanities University (EHU), Vilnius, Lithuania.

The terrible crisis that has gripped the countries of Eastern Europe since 2020 already influenced the development of the humanities, including Jewish studies. But epochs like the current one always accompanied the academy. The 4th EHU Conference on Jewish Studies in Vilnius of 2023 will discuss the state of Jewish scholarship during previous crises (1914-1918, late 1920s – 1930s, late 1940s – early 1950s, etc.) and consequences of the current great reorganization in Northern Eurasia – for academics, scientific schools, and universities, where Jewish disciplines are taught.
