Summer Course for Modern Hebrew at Potsdam University (School of Jewish Theology)
This intensive language course offers an introduction to Modern Hebrew for students without prior skills in Hebrew, starting with the Hebrew Alphabet. Participants will acquire knowledge of the fundamental structures of the Hebrew grammar (verb morphology and syntax) and a basic vocabulary. The course will offer many exercises in reading, listening comprehension, and conversation. Students will be given short quizzes every week. The course languages will be English (for instructions) and Hebrew (for conversation and exercises).
The course meets for five hours daily, Monday through Thursday, and four hours on Fridays (24 academic hours a week). Two teachers will be alternating in class.
After class, tutors will be assisting students with their assignments or any other questions they might have.
In addition to the language course, students will be offered a program for cultural activities (additional fees for some of the activities will be charged): Israeli film nights, meeting with Israeli students, visit to the Jewish Museum in Berlin, a reading evening with Israeli authors.

Credit Points: Participants who are students at a European University can be awarded up to 5 ECTS credits.
Course fee: The fee for the course is 360 € per participant. This fee also includes all study material. The number of students in this course is restricted to a maximum of 20.
