Period of employment 33 months full-time research only (no teaching duties)
Salary 8875 PLN gross payroll (taxes included) per month
Requirements:
- PhD in Humanities in art history, cultural studies, history or sociology up to 7 years (received in 2017 the latest)
- Experience in research and analyses of visual sources.
- Academic publications (at least one first-author publication in recognized peer-reviewed international journals).
- Expertise in European art between 1880 and 1939 with the emphasis on Central and Eastern European art, knowledge on Jewish art is not essential
- Knowledge of cultural and social contexts regarding shifts in thinking of body and corporeality between 1880 and 1939.
- Experience in knowledge transfer
- Experience in archival surveys of visual sources
- Research interests in gender and anthropology of body
- Analytical and synthesising skills
- Experience in team work
- Fluency in English (at least B2)
Job desription:
The post is offered as a part of the project Discourses on Body in Jewish Culture in the Polish Lands between 1880 and 1939 funded by the National Science Centre, Poland.
The candidates are required to do the following:
- Survey on visual materials and sources (film, photography, graphics, press illustrations, press covers, art) that demonstrate body (both female and male) within the time frame covered by the project
- Analysis and interpretation of collected materials
- Survey on secondary sources
- Selection of materials for the anthology
- Participation in team meetings
- Following the latest academic reports in local and international journals
- Submission of academic articles
- Active participation in academic conferences
- Participation in academic meetings and seminars
- Preparation of academic publications
- Active participation in academic conferences
- Dissemination actions to academic and non-academic audiences
- Supporting of PhD students and post graduate students
