The employment is offered in the framework of the project Discourses on Body in Jewish Culture in the Polish Lands between 1880 and 1939 funded by the National Science Centre, Poland under the grant no UMO-2022/47/B/HS2/01522
PI of the project is Zuzanna Kołodziejska-Smagała PhD
Requirements:
- PhD in Humanities in history, literary studies or cultural studies received in 2018 or later.
- Academic publications (at least one first-author publication in a recognized peer-reviewed international journals).
- Expertise in Jewish culture and history in the Russian Empire
- Academic interests focused on gender, anthropology of body
- Experience in archival surveys
- Experience in working with ego-documents
- Analytical and synthesising skills
- Experience in team work
- At least reading fluency in Yiddish, Hebrew and Russian
- At least B2 level of English
Responsibilities:
In research area:
- Survey on discourses on body in Jewish culture in literary, ego-documents and press sources written in Yiddish, Hebrew and Russian between 1880 and 1939
- Analysis and interpretation of collected sources using the tools of gender theory, anthropological approach to body, comparative analysis, archival analysis and source criticism
- Selection of sources for the anthology
- Participation in team meetings
- Following the latest academic reports in local and international journals
- Submission of academic articles
- Active participation in academic conferences
In teaching area: none: due to the research character of the post-doc fellowship in the framework of the project.
In organisational area
- Participation in academic meetings and seminars
- Preparation of academic publications
- Active participation in academic conferences
- Dissemination actions to academic and non-academic audiences
- Supporting of PhD students and post graduate students
