EAJS Conference: Studying Hebrew in Sixteenth-Century Strasbourg / L’hébraïsme chrétien à Strasbourg au XVIe siècle (16–17 June 2025, University of Strasbourg)
An international conference entitled “Studying Hebrew in Sixteenth-Century Strasbourg” will take place at the University of Strasbourg on 16–17 June 2025. The aim of the conference is to examine the formative years of Christian Hebraism in Strasbourg – starting with the first Christian scholars to study Hebrew in the early sixteenth century within the context of Humanism and the Reformation, and until the institutionalization of Hebrew scholarship and teaching in Strasbourg in the second half of the century.
