PhD Comparative Literature, UC Berkeley; published anthologies of women’s poetry in translation and taught NEH Institutes of translation theory & cultural studies for many years at UC Santa Cruz & SUNY Binghamton, focusing a.o. on Bible translations; In the late 1990\'s I co-designed an interdisciplinary three-year masters program at the University of Southern Stockholm. focused on the changes brought about by modernism/modernity and highlighted the presence of Jewish thinkers and writers in modern European culture; one of my course offerings was a reading of Freud, Kafka, Benjamin, Arendt, from within a contemporary critical framework of interpretation.
