Description
Elisabeth Gallas is working at the Dubnow Institute as Deputy to the Director since 2021. Since 2015 she is also Head of the Research Unit »Law«. She studied Cultural Studies and German Literature/Linguistics at Leipzig University, and Sociology at University of Copenhagen, and completed her MA degree in 2005. Between 2005 and 2012 Doctoral Candidate, Research Associate, and co-head of a research unit at the Dubnow Institute. She received her PhD in 2011; title of PhD thesis: »Das Retten der Bücher. Vom Offenbacher Depot zum jüdischen Geschichtsdenken nach dem Holocaust«. From 2012 to 2013 Research Fellow at the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies; 2014 to 2016 Monerva Research Fellow at the Avraham Harman Institute of Contemporary Jewry and the Franz Rosenzweig Minerva Research Center, both at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
