Description
Ivana Vučina Simović (PhD) is a hispanist and associate teacher at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Belgrade and Faculty of Philology and Arts of the University of Kragujevac (Serbia). Her main research interests are the topics related to the maintenance and shift of Judeo-Spanish language and to the identities and ideologies of the Sephardim from the territories of Former Yugoslavia. She has also done research on historical and sociolinguistic conditions of Sephardic life and culture in the Oriental times and in times of Modernity. Ivana Vučina Simović is an author of a book entitled Judeo-Spanish language on the Balkans: contributions to the Historical Sociolinguistics (in Serbian) (Kragujevac, Filolološko-umetnički fakultet, 2016) and a coauthor, together with Dr. Jelena Filipović, of another book, entitled Ethnic identity and language shift in the Sephardic community in Belgrade (in Serbian) (Belgrade, Zavod za udžbenike, 2009). She has also published many articles on Sephardic topics and on the status of Serbian in the present-day Diaspora.
