The originality of the laboratory is to conduct research both on the classical tradition and on the biblical tradition over the long term, from Antiquity to the contemporary period, including the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. There is no equivalent research center in France.
The TDMAM laboratory favors interdisciplinarity thus collaborating together: historians, philologists, linguists, Egyptologists and philosophers.
They study Arabic, Armenian, Coptic, Hebrew, Greek, Latin, Semitic languages.
They are specialists in Second Temple Judaism and modern and contemporary Judaism, specialists in the Greco-Roman world, medieval Arabic or even Renaissance humanism, patrologists , Byzantinists and Egyptologists.
