Awards degrees in Jewish Studies as a sole or major componentBA Languages: In the Hebrew field of study, the student becomes deeply acquainted with both the Hebrew language and the history, religion and cultures of the Jews. Students may choose to focus on either modern Hebrew or earlier forms of Hebrew (e.g., Mishna Hebrew or Medieval Hebrew). Language teaching places particular emphasis on modern Hebrew as a living and spoken language. During their studies, the student learns to understand the connection between the history of Judaism and the Hebrew language and to communicate and use Hebrew as an everyday language. In addition to deepening the language, the student can become acquainted with, for example, Israeli society, political and cultural research or the history and study of Judaism.

Main research activities
Language focus includes Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish and Persian. The discipline also examines Semitic languages (Hebrew and Aramaic in particular) and Jewish studies. There is also teaching on the Israel/Palestine conflict.
