Main research activities
UG students are introduced to Judaism as a main focus in their first year. Second year involves substantial study in Jewish Ethics, and in third year there is a module on 'Judaism in the Shadow of the Shoah', which includes the study of post-holocaust theology and kabbalah studies, as well as a module on Jewish Mysticism as part of the 'Philosophy, Ethics & Religion' BA. Theology students also study a couple of weeks of Post-Holocaust Theology in their third year. Jewish Mysticism also forms a core aspect of the MA in Theology, Philosophy, and Religion. Research interests in the department include mystical thought in Christian and Jewish traditions, and the relations between Kabbalistic studies and (post-)holocaust theology.
There is a Jewish Studies library
