Description
Prof. Edward Dąbrowa is the director of the Institute of Jewish Studies and the head of the Chair of the Ancient History, Jagiellonian University. He was the head of the Department of Jewish Studies during the years 2000-2012. His research focuses on the history of Near East, Mesopotamia and Iran in the period from the 4th century BCE to the 4th century CE. As for the history of ancient Israel he is interested in the period of the Second Temple, especially in the Hasmonean period. Prof. Dąbrowa is editor-in-chief of Scripta Judaica Cracoviensia, the journal published by the Institute of Jewish Studies. He is President of the European Association for Jewish Studies for period 2014-2018.
