Description
In 2013 I received a doctorate degree in Polish literature at the Faculty of Polish Studies, University of Warsaw (dissertation: Izraelita (1866-1915) Cultural and Literary Importance of the Weekly, published as a book in 2014). I also hold MA in English Studies (University of Warsaw).
Between 2015 and 2018 I was a team leader of the project Polish-Jewish Literature between 1861 and 1918 funded by the National Science Centre in Poland and conducted at the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Polish Studies. The project resulted in two books: Kołodziejska-Smagała, Zuzanna & Maria Antosik-Piela, Literatura polsko-żydowska 1861-1918. Studia i szkice [Polish-Jewish Literature 1861-1918. Studies and Sketches]. Krakow: Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, 2018; 4. Kołodziejska-Smagała, Zuzanna & Maria Antosik-Piela (eds), Literatura polsko-żydowska 1861-1918. Antologia [Polish-Jewish Literature 1861-1918. Anthology]. Krakow: Wydawnictwo Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, 2017.
Between 2020 and 2023 I was a PI of the project: Polish-Jewish Female Discourses on Body and Sexuality Between 1890 and 1918 funded by the National Science Centre in Poland and conducted in the University of Warsaw Institute of History in collaboration with François Guesnet and the UCL Department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies.
Currently I am a PI of the project: Discourses on Body in Jewish Culture in the Polish Lands between 1880 and 1939 at the Taube Department of Jewish Studies, University of Wroclaw. More info on the project: https://corporeality.uwr.edu.pl/
My interests are mainly focused on nineteenth-century Polish-Jewish literature and press. I am also interested in non-obvious relations and cultural contacts between Jewish and non-Jewish female social actors in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
