Am Institut für Judaistik gelangt die Stelle einer wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiterin/eines wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiters (praedoc) zur Ausschreibung.

Dauer der Befristung: 4 Jahr/e

Beschäftigungsausmaß: 30 Stunden/Woche.

Ihre Aufgaben:
Der Aufgabenbereich sieht neben der Arbeit an der Dissertation die Mitarbeit an Forschungsvorhaben im Bereich rabbinische Epoche vor, die Erstellung von Forschungsberichten vor allem zum Thema Midraschliteratur und die Vorbereitung und Betreuung von Kongressen und Tagungen.

Ihr Profil:
Erwartet werden Kenntnisse im Rahmen der Midraschforschung und der kulturwissenschaftlichen Theorien.

Teamfähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Organisationstätigkeit werden erwartet. Kenntnisse im Umgang mit Drittmitteleinwerbung und Projektanträgen werden ausdrücklich erwünscht.

Assistant Professor in Israel Studies: Princeton University, Department of Near Eastern Studies

The Department of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University in conjunction with the Program in Judaic Studies invites applications for a tenure track position in Israel Studies to begin September 1, 2011. Candidates should be able to teach courses on the Zionist movement, the formation of the state of Israel, its history up to the present, its culture, and its politics, domestic and international. Discipline and specialization open.  Rank: Assistant Professor, PhD in hand or expected. Position will be open until filled.

Loyola Marymount University, Department of Theological Studies, announces a tenure track faculty position in Judaism at the level of Assistant Professor beginning Fall Semester, 2011.
 
The University seeks candidates with comprehensive training in Jewish religious traditions who can teach broadly within and beyond their area of specialization. The successful candidate will be conversant in Jewish/Catholic relations and will have competence in one or more subfields, such as Hebrew Bible, Talmud, Jewish Theology, History of Jewish Thought, Interreligious Dialogue, Jewish practice, and/or the Jewish textual tradition.
 
The position involves both undergraduate and graduate education in a Catholic university committed to cultural diversity and interreligious understanding.
 
The Department, in addition to undergraduate major and minor programs, also offers Master of Arts degrees in Theology and Pastoral Theology. Candidates must show promise in research and teaching; the Ph.D. or equivalent is required.

The Department of Jewish Studies at Rutgers University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, starting September 2011, subject to the availability of funds. Ph.D. is required at time of hire. The position will be located in the Jewish Studies Department with the possibility of a joint appointment in the department of the applicant’s area of expertise. Fields of specialization may include Jewish history in the Middle East, North Africa, and European territories under Muslim rule; Jewish philosophy, ethnomusicology, sociology or anthropology of Jews in the Muslim world; Jewish-Muslim relations; religion of the Jews under Islam; Judaeo-Arabic literature. Evidence of teaching excellence and scholarly production are crucial.

Visiting Scholar Position in Jewish Studies, Rutgers University, 2011 – 2012
 
The Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, invites applications for a visiting scholar position during 2011 – 2012 academic year.
 
The Aresty Visiting Scholar is a one semester appointment that provides a stipend of $25,000. Academic rank and field of expertise are open. Ph.D. is required at time of application. The scholar is expected to teach two courses during the semester. Courses will be taught in the Department of Jewish Studies, with cross-listing in another department when possible. Visiting scholars will be expected to be in residence in the university area and participate actively in faculty seminars and the activities of the Bildner Center.
